Animal Collective - Taste

I think about lyrics from this song at least four times a week. Is it my mantra? Does a mantra have to be comforting / uplifting or is it alright if it makes you question your entire identity? Whatever the answer, it's important to me & has greatly impacted my ethos. Taste (+ most other Animal Collective songs) challenge my preconceived notions about myself & how I relate to the world. 

Am I really all the things that are outside of me? / Would I complete myself without the things I like around?
